The Fight Nerd prepares for his very first live event, The Fight Nerd Video Game Open: Fall Brawl! Start getting your thumbs ready for our UFC Undisputed 2010 tournament, with two weight classes to compete in (heavyweight and welterweight) and a pile of prizes from Jakks Pacific, Round 5, No Surrender Fight Wear, M-1 Global, King of the Cage, Topps, Skin Industries and more! Don’t you wish you lived in NYC?

A full list of prizes is coming soon, but I can tell you now it’s two big garbage bags full of MMA stuff and more is on its way! More news about prizes, competitors and special guests (hmm…) will be announced as we get closer to the show! Hit the jump for all the rules and details on location!

Come watch or compete on October 16, starting at 12 noon, at:

8 Bit And Up Video Games
35 St. Marks Place, 2nd Floor ( On the corner of 2nd Avenue and 8th Street)
New York, NY 10003

Registration is available online at http://www.getreadytogame.com/MMA.cfm

You can also register day of the show, but spots are limited to a first come, first serve basis! In other words, the sooner the better!

Walk-in fee to watch and have some fun (and get some free stuff) is $5, to enter one tournament is $10 and to enter both weight classes is $15.

Characters: any fighter from the UFC Roster in heavyweight or welterweight class, dependent on which tournament you enter. You do not have to stay as the same fighter in each round. No created fighters may be used.

Fight Time: Three rounds, five minutes on each round

Location: Any venue in the game

Referee: Mario Yamasaki or Herb Dean (not that they matter that much anyway)

Rules:
Players will choose their respective weight classes they wish to fight in. Tournament is Single Elimination; winner advances in the bracket and loser goes home. Xbox notifications should be turned off, and if xbox live is available you must appear offline. DLC will not be used.

Thanks to all of the sponsors who kindly donated prizes to this premiere event of the Fight Nerd Video Game Open’s first Fall Brawl!
