Former UFC Heavyweight Champ Andrei Arlovski will make his K-1 debut at the K-1 World Grand Prix in Seoul, Korea on October 2nd against 22-year-old Romanian Raul Cantinas in a tournament bout.
According to MMAFighting.com,Arlovski’s participation in the event was first revealed by K-1 announcer Michael Schiavello, who will call the Final 16 on English-language broadcasts around the world, including on HDNet in the United States. The news that Arlovski is in the Final 16, and that he’s got a beatable opponent in Catinas, means there’s a real chance he’ll return to the K-1 ring for the World Grand Prix Final in December.
It will be interesting to see how well he does in this tournament, if he does go deep it would be quite a surprise to many. He’s great standing but I have yet to see any kicking prowess from him. Will he go far in this tournament or will he end up coming short?
