On Wednesday, we brought you Matt Serra’s first MMA fight and a short history lesson. Today, we have another debut, as FightLinker has provided us with another debut fight, this time Diego “The Nightmare” Sanchez!

The man who put this video up is none other than the opponent in this fight, “Chino V”! Chino tells us this fight was held in a high school gymnasium in Las Cruces, New Mexico sometime on August, 2001. According to the uploader, the promoter of this amateur MMA show was short on fighters, so he stepped up to fight Diego, and got slammed and submitted in just under a minute!

Diego’s pro debut happened in June, 2002, a submission victory at “Ring of Fire 5” over Michael Johnson, and after that he went on to win the King of The Cage Welterweight Championship and later became the winner of the first season of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series. Sanchez is currently scheduled to fight Martin Kampmann as the headline fight on March 3rd’s “UFC Live” event on Versus.

After the jump, check out another fight from Diego’s past!

Diego Sanchez 6-0, takes on John Cronk at King of the Cage 26. (August 3rd, 2003)
