Well shut my mouth and call me Lou Diamond Phillips! Looks like “Little Evil” is back in business with his first win since December 2007!
At XFO 38 in Chicago on January 22, it took 49 seconds of the first round for Pulver to force Mike Lindquist to a tap out from a rear naked choke. Pulver, who joined Team Curran and set up shop living in an upstairs room at Jeff Curran’s Curran Martial Arts Academy in Illinois for three months leading up the fight, looked like he did a few years ago with his movements and seemed revived from the moment the opening bell rang to the moment his opponent submitted. Lindquist’s record goes from 6-20 while Pulver brings himself up to 23-14-1, and from the way Pulver looked, he is far from done.
So congrats to Pulver, he proved many pundits wrong, myself included. Team Curran might have been what Pulver needed to clear his head and get back to basics, more so than his own team with Tony Fryklund at The Driven Training Center. As for Pulver’s next fight, nothing has been announced, but with a performance like this, even over this young pup with a losing record, we can expect to Pulver fighting a few more times this year and hopefully keeping that win streak alive.
