Back from Strikeforce: Fedor VS Silva press conference

My apologies for the lack of updates today, folks. Been out pretty much all day. Where was I? In case you are terrible at reading headlines, I was at the Strikeforce: Fedor VS Silva New York Press Conference basically all day. Hooray for productivity!

I shot plenty of video of the entire presser, as well as photos which you will see later on Cagepotato.com (above is a sneak peek of a seemingly awkward moment, despite it just being a photog simply being in the right place at the right time), and got a few interviews too. Just to give you a quick overview, I actually hopped into a cab to get to Chelsea Piers in time for this event, spending seven bucks to ensure I did not miss a minute of this. My efforts, while valiant, were unneeded, as the presser did not even start until about 30 or 40 minutes after its original start-time.

So, I will spare you too many details right now since I just returned and have a lot of work to do, but look out for the video highlights from this event as soon as I can upload it, and check CP for my pics. Werdum might have a career in stand-up comedy if MMA fails, and Barnett cut some great promos that even made Arlovski smirk (which is as close to a smile as we will get out of the man who seemed suicidal when I talked with him). I also grabbed an interview with reserve-bout contestant Gian Villante and Chris Weidman, who was offered a fight but had to turn it down due to a rib injury. I also did a pretty bad interview with Alistair Overeem (I think I pissed him off actually, which was my cue to wrap things up), but I did get gold with Josh Barnett, despite Strikeforce officials demanding I finish quicker. Meh.

So that is what is on the horizon for the remainder of this week as we head into one of the biggest MMA events of the year and easily the biggest show to come to Jersey quite possibly ever. I also have great footage of yesterday’s rally to legalize MMA in New York outside of City Hall, but Youtube is on her period and doesn’t want me uploading things. So stay tuned, a lot is on the way!
