Earlier today, the UFC announced a change on their upcoming UFC on FOX 2 event on january 28 from Chicago. Mark Munoz has been dropped off the card, leaving some last minute switches to take place.
With Munoz out, Michael Bisping will step in to meet Chael Sonnen in a very compelling middleweight match (one that I prefer over the original match), while one of the hottest UFC prospect’s, Chris Weidman, will step in to face Demian Maia.
On his facebook, Weidman wrote, “Ok. I’m fighting Jan 28th live on Fox against Demian Maia. Here we go! I was always a good crammer in school I think I can make it work for fights too. God is good!” Weidman has gone undefeated in his MMA career, with his most recent victory a submission over veteran Tom Lawlor.
Rashad Evans will still meet Phil Davis in the main event of the show, pending anyone else gets injured or sick or who knows what else. Stay tuned as we hope to have plenty of coverage next week from this event!
